KUTRRH PET Radiopharmacy Unit
About Company
The Kenyatta University Teaching, Research and Referral Hospital (KUTRRH) houses a specialized PET radiopharmacy unit within its Integrated Molecular Imaging Centre (IMIC), a unique facility in Kenya and the broader African region dedicated to early cancer diagnosis and treatment monitoring.
This unit is equipped with a cyclotron machine, making KUTRRH the first public hospital in East and Central Africa capable of producing radioisotopes locally for diagnostic use.
These radioisotopes are essential for preparing radiopharmaceuticals used in PET/CT scans, which are critical for detecting cancer at an early, molecular level.
